Pumps are a vital part of solar fountains. These pumps prevent the water from sitting still and stagnating. Without a pump, bacteria would be rampant and water would be murky an unhealthy.
For a fountain to utilize solar energy, it uses a solar power to collect and store energy from the sun’s rays and then uses that energy to power the pump. This is the solar aspect to solar fountains.
